Home School Link Worker

If you have a desire to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and wish to work in an incredibly rewarding environment, then this could be the job for you!  

Fitzwaryn is a Special School in Wantage, Oxfordshire providing high quality education for children and young people from 3 – 19 years old who have moderate, severe and profound multiple needs including autism. The school was judged Outstanding in all areas in May 2022.  

We are looking for a resilient, reliable and supportive individual who will support us to deliver a high-quality education provision to our pupils. You will need good communication skills and plenty of energy. The Home School Link Worker role will be the bridge between our pupils’ families and school, therapists and other professionals. The role will also include being pro-active in seeking support for our families in relation to school and the wider community. You will be required, amongst other duties outlined in the job description, to become one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and you will be required to lead Strengths and Needs Assessments and attend Team Around the Family meetings.  

 

Deputy Headteacher

Fitzwaryn School is a very friendly and extremely successful school for children and young people aged 3-19 years. Our pupils have a range of learning difficulties, including moderate and severe learning difficulties, PMLD and autism. The school was judged Outstanding by OfSTED in all areas in May 2022.

The school is part of The Propeller Academy Trust.

Main purpose

The deputy headteacher, under the direction of the headteacher, will take a major role in:

·  Formulating the aims and objectives of the school

·  Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives

·  Managing staff and resources to that end

·  Monitoring progress towards the achievement of the school’s aims and objectives 

If the headteacher is absent, the deputy headteacher will deputise, as directed by the governing board.

The deputy headteacher will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a headteacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).
