Employer question and answer morning

Written by Charlie Butler

This morning we had Nick from CALA and Lee from ACS come into the student Centre to talk to us about the construction industry. We found out a lot of interesting facts. One question we asked was where does the wildlife go when they are building. Lee told us that they are very careful to move wildlife first. We also found out that they have to wear PPE which stands for personal protective equipment. Nick told us that he had only been in his job for 10 months and before that he had been a teacher for 10 years!  We asked both of them what skills and qualifications we would need to go into the construction industry. They talked about how important communication, problem-solving and team work was in their jobs which linked in to our skills builder lessons. We all really enjoyed the session and found it very interesting.
