Student Centre Autumn Term 2018
The students have returned after the summer to a wonderful new building!
The students had watched it being built and were excited to explore inside! We are still unpacking but the Students are helping and making the centre their own.
We welcome 5 new students to the Student Centre this year so are now 17 in number!
We also welcome Mrs Jowett and Mrs Evans who have joined the staff this year.
Besides getting used to the building, the students are getting used the new routine in the Student Centre as it is really quite different to the main school. This term’s accreditation is focusing on Household Cleaning and Gardening for pleasure – this ties in well with our new Enterprise Project.
We are no longer joining the Propeller project at Abingdon and Witney College but are planning our own projects. We are planting hanging baskets and pots with winter flowering plants, planting Christmas bulbs, making craft items for sale nearer Christmas and investigating an upcycling project. The students and staff have lots of ideas and are busy sourcing the resources to get started!
We will also continue with our regular coffee mornings and it is good to see new and regular faces – we look forward to showing off our new building. We also hope to continue our intergenerational links with the residents of Stirlings and will be inviting them back for lunch in the near future.
The students will be working on the third edition of our magazine – The Voice. Keep an eye on the website for our publication due term 2!
