Student Centre Summer Term 2018
This term we continue to attend the Propeller Horticulture and Art and Craft Project and the focus is hanging baskets and craft items for summer sales. We are also planting patio pots in school for sale at the fete and we hope to have a selection of salad and vegetables to use when preparing lunches with the surplus being sold.
The students continue to work on their accreditation with the leavers completing their final evaluations before their files are submitted to the examining board.
This term the leavers will be taking part in their transition visits to their next placements – the colleges or a supported work placement of their choice.
It is full steam ahead with the planning for our trip to Centre Parcs in Holland. The Yr 13 and 14 students are researching the route via the channel tunnel, planning the activities, shopping, menus and which clothes and other items they will need for the week away. Whilst in Holland the students will have the chance to practice and consolidate all their Independent Living skills learnt in the Student Centre. They will also experience travelling abroad as well as having fun.
Those students not travelling to Holland are looking forward to a barge trip and are planning a BBQ for the end of term.
All students and staff are also planning a music festival on July 19th -20th to be held on the school field – camping, glamping, live music, silent disco, BBQ, stall, non alcoholic bar, breakfast. This will be open to Post 16 students and their families/staff across Oxfordshire as well as past students and their families. More details to follow!!
Another busy but exciting term!
