Fitzwaryn School endeavours to set challenging targets for all pupils. These targets are based on a summary of a range of sources (and use only the Upper Quartile results from data collections). They are used to guide teaching staff to support pupils to make outstanding progress by determining appropriate and challenging targets focussed on the pupils making outstanding progress.
OfSTED, 2014, stated that, ‘Fitzwaryn has innovative systems to check pupils’ progress which ensures that anyone who falls behind can quickly catch up. This ensures that a high proportion of pupils make better than expected progress in English and mathematics and in their personal development.’ Also, ‘Progress across year groups in a wide range of subjects is consistently outstanding as shown by school records. Inspection evidence shows that achievement in English and mathematics is outstanding.’
