Dogs Helping Kids Assessments

Tuesday 21st April 2015

This weekend Betsy, Miss Wenham and Mrs Pierce went down to Devon for the next session of training with Tracey from Dogs Helping Kids (DHK). While they were there, Betsy and Miss Wenham also took two more assessments in the School dog training program and passed both of them :-)

Assessment three took place in Barnstaple and looked at how well Betsy would work with a child and at the training needed for working in a school environment such as coping with loud noises and not picking up things on the floor. Assessment four took place in a garden centre and looked at how well Betsy and Miss Wenham are working together as a team. Betsy was a superstar particularly in the busy garden centre where she had to focus and ignore all the lovely smells and the shelves of interesting objects as she walked past!

Now Betsy just has two more assessments to pass before she becomes a fully certified DHK school dog!
