As part of our science topic on lifecycle, pupils in the upper school have been helping to monitor and hatch ducklings. Throughout the term pupils have taken it in turns to monitor the incubators temperature and humidity to ensure the conditions were right for the duck eggs. On Thursday morning pupils were excited to see that some of the eggs had started piping and unzipping (getting ready to hatch). Pupils then waited with baited breath checking regularly on the eggs all throughout the day. Then to much excitement the 1st ducking hatched from its egg at 9.05 Friday morning closely followed at 10.30 by a 2nd little friend.
